I know I am a tiny bit late and my boss, Gina, you know the one that tells me I have to wave.....waving.... waving...waving...is probably going to take this out of my paycheck this week for being late with this announcement BUT better late than never, I say. Right? Right? Come on...help me out here....

Anyway ...I just found this out myself today via Michelle from The True Book Addict, who posted about it. It starts today and runs until March 1st. Here are the details for those who need some help with ALL of those challenges.

Hello my favorite addicts!!! Just stopping by to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day!! I hope today you get lots of love, flowers, cards and most of all......BOOKS and CHOCOLATES. OH YES CHOCOLATES....lots of chocolates!!! I don't know about you but....ssssshhhhhhh books, challenges, chocolates and ice cream are my addictions. And I heard a rumor some where that chocolates were non fattening on Valentine's Day...can't remember where I heard that from......ooops...I just remembered....it was me having a wishful thinking moment lol

While I am here, just wondering, how is everyone doing on their challenges? How many books did you read in January? I read 5 books in January and 3 so far this month. Not great but better than what I did last year.

Also, I hope you all don't mind if I tell you about another hat that I wear and that I would like to extend an invitation for you to join in case you are interested. I apologize in advance if I offend anyone. I am a Reader and a Challenge Addict!!! I am not a sports person.

There is all this noise about some big sports game on this weekend, everybody getting excited about grown men getting into a circle and whisper what they are going to do with a ball, they try, it doesn't happen, they go back in a circle, whisper again, and on and on. You get the picture?

Well in my house, I am banned from the family room, that's where the TV is, and am not allowed to talk, because when I do add my opinion, my family just shake their heads and ignore me.

Let me introduce myself..........standing up.....(and proudly I may add)......I'm Cheryl from CMash Loves To Read and I am a Challenge Addict.....I said it !!! See !!! That wasn't hard...not at all.

I have been stalking A Novel Challenge blog for the past couple of months gearing up for the new 2012 Challenges. 2011 wasn't a good year for me so I am even more excited because I am hopeful that I am going to do better in 2012. I am a ~~co host~~, ~~partner~~, ~~associate~~, ~~cohort~~, Gina's my boss in this challenge. According to my job description from last year, I am to wave and cheer everyone on.

This is a different type of challenge. We stop by tell each other how we are doing, have some fun, and usually find out about more challenges that we can join from our own resident Queen Challenge Addict.....Bev. It's that time of year where we finally admit to our addictions and try to do something about them. Some of us need to admit we have a bit of a problem. Some of us need to admit we have a huge problem. Some of us just really want to enjoy each other's pain and humiliation while completing challenges. (That's why CMash does this with me... so she can spend the year laughing uproariously at my futile attempts to cut back.)

Cheryl from CMash Loves to Read and Gina from Hott Books are two such people. We each can stand proudly and say,

CMash & I are just terrific!! I'm joining challenges like there's no tomorrow and she's laughing like a hyena. For some reason she thinks I have a bit of a problem. Something about having more challenges than there are days in the year - I'm not really sure because I was in the process of signing up for a challenge when she was scolding me for little 'problem'.

Anyway, I'm SO into the 2012 Challenges already.

Jamie at 'An Eclectic Bookshelf' already has a ton of fun ones up and 'A Novel Challenge' has done a major overhaul since they came under new management and are all of these challenges!

So, I've been thinking...

How are your challenges coming? Have you completed the linky to share your challenge success?

As you all know, I'm offering 5 books from my personal library to one lucky participant this month. This giveaway will be open until August 31st. All you have to do to enter is to link a post stating that you've completed a challenge to the linky on our Completed Challenges page. Enter as many challenges as you've completed... but, please, only one entry per challenge. And since we have so many participants, I'll give away a second set of 5 books to a lucky second place winner IF we end up with more than 100 completed challenges.

(This giveaway is open to anyone in the US or Canada.)

Good evening, friends!!

I know, I know. Cheryl & I have been MIA lately - our personal lives are just wreaking havoc on our beloved blogs and challenges. We do want you to know that we're thinking of you & hope you keep stopping by & WORKING ON YOUR CHALLENGES.

I'm currently at 37 challenges with 8 of them completed. It's not terrific but most of them at at 50%+ so it's not terrible. How is everyone else doing?

Did you know that on many challenge blogs June is a make up month? So if you've gotten behind it's time to catch up. Especially, if you're like me and you read the books, write the reviews and then forget to enter them in the giveaway -- duh!!

It's been forever hasn't it?

I've been neglecting you. Please, forgive me... Soccer season just wears me out. Especially since they made me the manager. Rescheduling games. Entering Tournaments. Registering Players. Tracking Payables. UGH.

But. The regular season is OVER this Saturday... and all we have is the summer tournament circuit... and well, a few other small things. School is out this Friday & I'll just need to do my daily prep/check of the kids summer work (I know I'm the meanest mom!). And, I'll just get to sit on the soccer field and watch hubby play. Yippee!! So much less work!

I want to give a HUGE apology for being AWOL these past couple of months. It is a very long story but something happened in "real life" that I had no choice but to fight tooth and nail, as they say, to the point of my husband and I having to retain lawyers to represent us. Thank God that we are now on the right road, even though we have a lot of work ahead of us to clean up the mess, but we at least are on the right road. So hopefully you will be seeing more of me and once we get back from vacation, which we so desperately need after everything, I should be back to normal, well.....that 's questionable...if I was ever normal to start lol.

First, I want to give the BIGGEST THANK YOU to my FRIEND and co-host Gina, for not only taking on my responsibilities here but helping me through this very tough time, letting me vent, giving me words of encouragement and advice. For Gina......<3

OK....So...what's new? I see that we have ~~show offs~~ over achievers that have finished some challenges lol. WTG!!! As for me...nada...nothing...nil....none.... but those challenge button thingies look so purty on my challenge page. Have I missed if Bev and Senora G added more challenges? Come on!! Fess Up!!!

I don't know about you but this month has been harrowing!
I just can't seem to catch up. To make matters worse - or at least to make me feel more guilty - today I've gotten not one but TWO emails from challenge hosts reminding me (not specifically just me) that I need to link up my posts. UGH!

So I'm here to remind all of my challenge friends that WE ARE SLACKING!

OK..we are all friends here right? RIGHT? I can't hear you!!! Well if I ask a little question will you promise you won't do this:

Never mind...I know you are going to do it anyway.....but I am a ~~wee~~ ~~little~~ ~~smidgen~~ ok ok I am a huge bit confused.

What do you do with books that you start reading but end up in the DNF pile? Do they still go towards your challenges? For example. I signed up for a Read/Review Challeng thinking I could cross that over with my 100+ (LOL) challenge. But can I really put it under my 100+ challenge since I didn't finish it. But even though I didn't finish it, I still had to write a review. Did that mumbo gumbo make any sense? So how does this work...any suggestions? tips? who's job description does this fall under.

A Desperate Plea for HELP! :P

I'm sending out a desperate plea for help!

Cheryl desperately needs a Kindle!
Sure she has a Sony but there are so many more free books out on Amazon than there are on Sony and Kobo combined that it would actually save her family money if she had a Kindle.
I, of course, love my Kindle! so I've been trying to think of all of the best and most logical reasons for Cheryl to own one as well.

The money savings due to all of the free books -- just 20 free books and the Kindle would be paid for.
Games - Kindle has several free games that can be played when her mind's to spent to read.
The battery that doesn't seem to die.
She could use her earnings from the Amazon Affiliate Program (both cents) to get more books.
She could share with hubby.
She would have an extraordinary amount of reading material to take with her on her cruise without having to pay the extra luggage charges...

Okay, I've not come up with anything good...
What good reasons can you come up with?

As many of you know. The 'Linky Tools' are down.

I really and truly understand why he feels the need to charge for the service. Brent did a terrific job of keeping things up to date & he wasn't getting a dime in return. I even think that the $24 a year fee that he's charging is reasonable. He probably spends a ton of non-reimbursed time pulling everything together and keeping it running as seamlessly as her does.

My issue is this: Why on earth would you delete customer accounts, remove all of their information and links, and alienate potential customers? Please, explain to me why on earth he couldn't take ten minutes and send his customers/users an email to let them know he would be changing the format and requiring payment for use? I'd have paid the $24 just so I didn't loose all of our info! So today, I'm irritable & have much to redo...

All of that to just let you know that it may take me a couple of days to get our linky's back up & running -- oh, & that all of the info we had in them is now lost...

I take my job of being a cohost very serious, I have a huge responsibility to my fellow addicts to let them know that there are .....are you sitting down?....I'll wait......hurry up a bit....I'm supposed to be at a Read-A-Thon....that's how serious I take my job.......ok...you all settled now? ok....where was I......yes that I take this serious..

No..that wasn' it..I already said that....senior moment alert....oh I remember now......There are NEW CHALLENGES posted......Yes...I swear it's a conspiracy. But I thought I needed to share this new information, especially since, I have my eye on one of them and don't want to be the only one signing up so I thought I would bring a few of you down with me lol. You know, I'm constantly teasing Cheryl because she's gotten herself into so many challenges. Yet, this morning, I realized that I've already agreed to 16.

16!?!? Sure, most of them are cross-overs (I'm praying!!) but still! And this doesn't even include the seasonal challenges.

What was I thinking? Maybe an intervention is in order... Cheryl - HELP!!!

Winter's Respite Read-a-Thon

Not satisfied with having signed up for fourteen reading challenges, I am now going to sign up for The True Book Addict's Winter Respite Read-a-Thon. Of course, signing up for the read-a-thon should help me with my challenges, right? Because it's supposed to encourage me to read, read, read and therefore I will finish challenges more quickly, right?

Here are the basics:
The read-a-thon will last from Monday, January 17 at 12 am until Sunday, January 23 at 11:59 pm (adjust your time zone as appropriate, our hostess is on central time).

You can sign up and participate at any time during the read-a-thon...this is a flexible event. I hope you will join me for a week of reading fun!

You can let them know what a ~~crazy~~, ~~nutty,~~ fun bunch we are. That this is a challenge like no other challenge!!! Don't you agree? And what other challenge cohost will trudge through feet of snow,

to bring it's members hot coffee and donuts from Dunkin Donuts on a Sunday morning.....

ok...so they are virtual...but it's the thought that counts....right? Ohhhh come on...don't be mad, now that you have a craving for a jelly stick, or maybe a coffe bun or maybe a chocolate covered doughnut with sprinkles or my favorite, a blueberry muffin. Hey...and just think...Zero...Nada....Zip....calories. So see. I am also thinking of your health too!!!! Oh hubby!!!! HUBBY!! Calling hubby...would you please take a drive to D&D and pick me up a blueberry muffin!!! TTYS!! Need to let hubby know what I want from D&D. GL with challenges!!!

OMG!!!! What did I do?? I thought I was so organized!!! I had it all under control!!! No problemo!!! Created a page on blogger just for my challenges (organized...right?) Created spreadsheet on computer (organized.....right?) Wrong!!! Huge Mistake!!! In Trouble!!! Help!!!!! Didn't think that I had to put the book in 18 different places!!!!!! This is me after adding my first book to each and every challenge it crosses over to on the challenge page and spreadsheet.

Not only am I a Challenge Addict but I can now add this to my personality traits.

WOW There are a lot of Challenge Addicts in Bloggy Land and Gina and I aren't the only ones!!! Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! Come on in and introduce yourself. Gina and I want to make this a fun challenge, make new book bloggy friends, have some laughs with others and even at ourself. I know I have been laughing at myself since the beginning of December. I promised myself that I WAS NOT going to do a lot of challenges in 2011. But did I listen? (Now I understand why my boys never listened to me). Not only did I sign up for more challenges (18) so far, 2 of them I am cohosting. So, stop by often, let us know how you are doing, what progress you are making, and more importantly, if you hear of any new challenges!!! Hey...at this point....if you are wearing the Challenge Addict Badge, why not add a few more challenges, right? To help motivate everyone, how about we have a giveaway for the person who completes one of their challenges first!! Just what you needed....another book. But maybe it just might be a book you need for another challenge. So get back to reading.

Hi Everyone!!!
Wanted to see how everyone was doing. Wanted to let you know that I have checked all over the world for a Challenge Addicts Anon Chapter and there isn't one, so you have come to the right place lol!!!. Now that we have admitted we are Challenge Addicts and wearing our badge proudly, I was just curious as to how many challenges you have signed up for as of today ( or should I say this minute) because we all know that can change any time. As of yesterday......year long 2011 challenges that I have signed up for are:

Plus another one that is a perpetual challenge. Gina and I have also signed up for Bloggiesta, so am thinking, that is another one too. And let's not forget all the mini challenges that will occur throughout the year. Which brings me to a huge favor to ask. If you come across any Read-A-Thons, mini challenges, etc., etc., please, pretty please, rush right over here and post about it so that all of us in the group will know about it!!! OK..it's your turn...go ahead...you can do it....I know you can.....lol .....how many!!!

My name is Cheryl, aka CMash, and I am a Challenge Addict!! (phew...I said it!!!) I know you must be completely shocked by this announcement lol.

Gina has been teasing me about all the challenges I signed up for (shhhhh....don't tell...but...have you seen her list? .....she thinks I haven't seen how many she signed up for!!!!) And then Julie, another friend, from Reading Without Restraint has told me I'm crazy (nice friend...huh? lol.....except...she has signed up for 1 or 2 less than me lol). And then Kate from The Midnight Book Club commented on my blog that she loved the badge and thought I should host this challenge. So at this rate what's one more?
