Challenge Addicts 2013

Link up here to declare your addiction to that beautiful thing: The Reading Challenge.  Reading Challenges of all sorts and sizes.  Those that require you to read certain genres. Those that want colors or animals or certain kinds of words in the title.  Those that help you tackle your TBR piles and those that seem to encourage you to add more to the stacks.  You got 'em we want to know about 'em.  Help us feed our Reading Challenge mania and join in to offer support and encouragement along the way.

Check out the "About" page to see what levels of addiction we support and to help you design a sign-up post.

Let us know who you are (Go on, say it with us: "Hi, my name is Bev, and I'm a Reading Challenge Addict." There, see, not too hard.), a link to your sign-up post, and an email address (so I can contact you about any challenge prizes along the way) in the Linky below. New challengers welcome until November 30, 2013.

  2. Count me in. However, not sure what level yet since I will probably adding more. Is it me or aren't there as many challenges posted for 2013, that were for 2012? Will be back to see what level is needed.
GL to Bev...for taking the reins!
    GL everyone for 2013!!!

  10. Oh, boy! More Challenge Addicts...the room's getting crowded again. But that's a GOOD thing. We like things crowded and boisterous here at the Challenge Addict site. Welcome, welcome all. And be sure to let us know if you find any really good challenges that you think we might have missed....Cheryl's looking for a good 100+ Reading Challenge if anybody's got one on tap.

  11. I can't believe I am not the only one. YYEAHH!! Love this challenge. I was a closet reading challenge addict until now. Last year I signed up for 6 added one more toward the end of the year and completed all but one. This year I have signed up for 10 (so far) And I am thinking about 2 more. Thinking!
    Thanks for hosting!!

  15. I'm still debating joining this year. I don't think I complete my challenges in time to link up as I just went to the 2012 link up post and it's already closed! I was reading and completing my challenges (18 completed) up until the end of the year yesterday!

  20. Hi!
When I signed up as #26, I used my "general" blog address which is http://www.lauriehere.blogspot.com, the 'general' blog addy.
The original post I did is at this link: http://www.lauriehere.com/2013/01/reading-challenge-addict-again-at-least.html
    BUT,
the Challenge will take place on a 'separate page', which is called "Challenges 2013" is here: http://www.lauriehere.com/p/challenges-for-2013.html
This is a page dedicated to "ALL Challenges".
So I didn't know 'which' LINK you want to use?
In the right side column, the icon will link to the Challenge page, which is the 2nd link I gave you up above. It is the FIRST Challenge I have listed.
Just wanted to let you know in case you need to know!
    Hope this makes sense! LOL!
    Thanks!

  23. I think I started with the wrong challenge! *LOL* But the button reminded me of another challenge where you were supposed to read more books than you had the previous year. But thanks to Create With Joy, I landed at this one first and I've been racking up books on my Kindle...I've already got more books on there since the New Year than I read all last year - yes, it was really that big of a dry spell in 2012.

  24. I signed up for On the roof: 6 to 10.

  25. I am going to try and control myself. Who am I kidding. I signed up for Out of this World

  26. Yay for more challengers! But I have to warn you....two of our members have already finished a challenge. All in favor of requiring them to pick up a new challenge to take its place please raise your hands. :-)

  27. I just signed up, and will be going for Out of this World. I've already signed up for eleven, and know I'll be adding more. My blog has a separate page for each challenge. The main page is my book reviews. Each challenge page links the title of the book back to its review. It also links to the home page of the challenge.

  28. Thanks for hosting! This will be my first year participating in this challenge, so I'm signing up for the level "Easy as Pie". Wish me luck!

  29. Hi, my name is Megan, and I'm a reading challenge addict. I only completed four last year, but I'm going for SIXTEEN this year. Eek!

  30. Hi! My name is Julie. I'm coming a little late to the party... I just started my book blog (www.smilingshelves.com) on Sunday, but I'm raring to go for all of these challenges. I'm signing up for On the Roof, aiming for 8ish challenges. I'm excited to get started!

  31. Hello from the prairies everyone! Yes, since you see me frequently in circles we're members of together, you know Carolyn of 'RIEDEL Fascination ought to be here as well. :) I wanted to add my name last year but former hostesses closed the door well before new year's eve. It reads as if you should finish 18 (ect) themes BEFORE joining.

Many see how the flow is going well through the year before putting in their hat; even if they're clearly in enough events to be fellow addicts! Perhaps rewording will clarify or, with too many events culminating December 31 anyway, this is an ideal event for concluding January 31.

Thrilled to be among other book nuts. My tally is at least 42 reading events! http://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2013/09/07/riedel-reading-circles-2013/

  32. Alas, my original note did not post! I wanted to say that I am thankful to be amongst like-minded souls and that I look forward to continuing with this awesome challenge in 2014 as well! I'm a bit behind on updating my post for this, but I'll get that squared away soon! I'm a new book blogger myself, and am thrilled to bits that we always have a nice array of community events to partake in!

  33. just realized that I should have signed up for this one a LONG time ago! How do you count the challenges that run from the middle of 2013 to 2014?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sorry, I didn't respond here, Joanne. For everyone's benefit: If I have a challenge that run's more than one year (or crosses over calendar years), then I set my own goal for the current year. So if the challenge calls for--oh, say 24 books, read from July 2013 through July 2014--then I might say that I will read at least 12 books by the end of 2013 and complete the challenge in 2014. If I manage the 12 books, then I consider the challenge complete for the Addict challenge for 2013. Then, if I complete the rest of the books in 2014 as scheduled, then I would count it as a completion for 2014 as well.
